Award Presented to: Darrells Restaurant by Celebration Media – Tuesday, February 12, 2013
We would like to extend our congratulations to you and your staff for reaching another milestone in customer satisfaction. As you recall, in 2012 your business was awarded the Talk of the Town Customer Satisfaction Award by Celebration Media, and through hard work and commitment, the Darrells Restaurant team has achieved a consecutive win for 2013.
Understand that this research is vital to business owners. Unlike any other service that rates and posts customer satisfaction scores, Celebration Media averages scores and data from user-review and business-review websites, social networks, business-rating services, and industry resources all by hand. By averaging ratings, we adjust for the occasional negative review that might be posted by a competitor or a positive review from a family member.
Each company receives one score for the year, and it is a stable rating that does not change until new research is done the following year. If the rating is 4 stars or better it is automatically posted, at no charge, at www.talkofthetownnews.com on your own award star page for the world to see.
This month’s Reader’s Digest Canada says, “Nothing beats a tasty burger, and it seems every city has their own charbroiled claim to fame. But who comes out on top? We scoured Canada for the nation’s greatest hamburgers, and narrowed it down to eight picks worthy of your time and taste buds.” Here’s the direct link to the Reader’s Digest Canada story about Darrell’s Burgers.
BEST BURGER for the 10th Year in a row! by Dan Joseph on May 19, 2012 in The Word of Darrell’s
The Coast’s 2012 Readers’ Survey results are in and all we can say is WOW! We’re stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth humbled and honoured and proud. Only one Metro diner makes the Darrell’s Certified Angus Beef® Peanut Butter Burger. But it took hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of Darrell’s fan votes to win the BEST BURGER AWARD — TEN YEARS IN A ROW! Thanks to all of you!
“… Darrell’s has reeled in Best Burger once again. “Our burger has just taken a monumental leap,” says owner and chef Dan Joseph. In March, Darrell’s switched from a frozen patty to fresh certified Angus beef. With a quality investment like that, it’s clear this isn’t the end of Halifax’s love affair with the legendary burger.” by thecoast.ca staff
You could tell me you’re not salivating at the sight of that beefy, bacon-y goodness on a bun, but I won’t believe you. It’s human nature. Our taste buds thrill at the sight of good food. They tingle with joy at the sharpness of cheddar cheese and crisp, salty bacon. A bite of dill pickle and a condiment or two, and we have happy, happy palates.
“It’s an all-too familiar story — one that we’ve experienced first-hand — that when the owners are absent, the quality starts to drop and the restaurant is soon gone,” Joseph said Monday.
Until last week, the Darrell’s Hen Den’Burger has been the biggest, boldest, baddest burger we’ve made in the last 20 years. That is until Suzanne’s Mom called and ordered a 4 lb. Birthday-Cake-Sized Peanut Butter Burger for her daughter.
Thanks Halifax! We’re feeling the love here at Darrell’s. All your votes won us the Faces Magazine Halifax 2012 awards for Best Burger and Best Lunch Menu. xoxo
Voting started today, March 1, 2012 for the 11th annual celebration of the very best of Halifax food and drink — voted by Coast readers. Yay!
All of us at Darrell’s are hoping that you’ll help us make this the Tenth Year in a Row that the Darrell’s Peanut Butter Burger wins the Best Burger award!
The rules are simple: You head over to the Coast web site voting area, sign in, name your favourite in at least 10 categories (which means you can actually vote for food & drink other than Darrell’s — although why you would is totally beyond us) and you’ll be entered in the Coast’s random prize draw.
The grand prize is $1,000 in gift certificates at local bars and restaurants, plus lots of other runner-up prizes.

With our customers’ help, on December 15, 2011 Darrell’s raised more than $6500 for FEED NOVA SCOTIA. By doing this each year you have helped us raised well over $20,000 and Feed Nova Scotia has turned that into over $250,000 worth of meals.
